2 Chronicles 7:1-22; Ezekiel 32:1-32; John 11:55-12:19

The son of Dan was Hushim (Shuham). Genesis 46:23, NKJV
All the families of the Shuhamites…were sixty-four thousand four hundred. Numbers 26:43, NKJV

Dan had only one son. In a culture where sons meant security and respect I wonder if this was a disappointment to him and his wife. This could have been compounded by constantly seeing his many nephews running around Goshen. When the second Israelite census was taken, Dan’s single son’s descendants had produced the third largest tribe. Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God’s own choosing. —Martin Luther
