And they found the stone rolled away. Luke 24:2
A 6th century parish church in Llantrisant in South Wales boasts an interesting item within it. Adjacent to the altar is a “Resurrection Stone” which is a stone of immense weight and which could be hired out to lie on the top of newly occupied graves to prevent the theft of corpses. The tomb occupied by our Lord had a stone rolled in front of it to prevent theft. That did not stop the tomb being vacated. He was not stolen away, but He rose again from the dead, left the tomb and was seen by many. —Brian Powlesland
Up from the grave He arose!
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes.
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign!
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah Christ arose! —Daniel Thornton
