Leviticus 21:1-24; Psalms 124:1-127:5; Mark 7:24-8:10

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him. Psalm 37:7
I waited patiently for the Lord. Psalm 40:1

Although translated “patiently” in each verse, different Hebrew words are used in each. The first “patiently” implies waiting in fear and trembling (to be in anguish). Sometimes we have burdens that cause that reaction and we wait on the Lord. The second “patiently” means to wait in expectant hope and joyful anticipation. This should be our daily occupation. In either case the Lord proves Himself sufficient. How blessed to have a Saviour who understands us in every circumstance of life. —Wm. H. Gustafson

I am trusting Thee to guide me: Thou alone shalt lead,
Ev’ry day and hour supplying all my need.  —Frances Ridley Havergal
