2 Samuel 14:1-33; Zephaniah 2:1-15; Galatians 2:1-21

Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water, follow him. Luke 22:10

Who are you following? Peter and John followed an unnamed man who was most likely a bond servant. The Greek word used here for “following” emphasizes the need to walk in his path, travelling alongside the bond servant. The pitcher he carried was filled with water and makes us think of purification and refreshment. As they followed, Peter and John were led to a furnished room where they would later share in a sweet feast with the Lord Jesus. The message today is clear, follow the Lord’s directives and be led to a place of sanctuary with Him. —G. B.

Follow, follow, I will follow Jesus,
Anywhere, everywhere, I will follow on.  —William Cushing
