For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s. Philippians 2:21
From the beginning of time, mankind has pursued its own way, doing “that which was right in his own eyes” (Judg. 21:25). These pursuits inevitably resulted in painful consequences. The prodigal son in Luke 15 is a prime example of this. His willful quest for his own way, led him down a destructive path of sin and regret. Do you find yourself spiraling down such a path today? By returning to your heavenly Father in repentance, you will find forgiveness wrapped in the warmth of His loving embrace. —E. V.
Thou the prodigals hast pardoned,
Kissed us with a Father’s love;
Killed the fatted calf, and called us,
E’er to dwell with Thee above. —James G. Deck
