1 Kings 8:31-66; Jeremiah 16:1-21; Philippians 1:21-2:11

Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way? Luke 24:32

Worship is not merely an event we attend or a certain style of music. Biblical worship is the overflow of a heart that is full of Christ. A Church deficient in true worship cannot be “fixed” by external means, a popular notion today. If a child has never learned to read, it will make no difference whether you put a comic book
or an encyclopedia in front of them—they still won’t read it! The problem is not external, but internal. Not giving Christ opportunity to fill our hearts will result in a lack of worship. May we daily seek the kind of “heartburn” these two on the road to Emmaus experienced. This is the secret of worship! —Brian Cretney

O worship the King all glorious above,
O gratefully sing His power and His love. —Robert Grant
