For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
Years ago in Montreal I visited a historic cathedral. The weather was damp and cold and as I climbed the 60 or so steps that led to the magnificent entrance I passed an older woman. She was on her hands and knees climbing up the steps one at a time, her knees bloodied from the rough stone steps. I asked if I could help. Her answer was she was working for her salvation. Perhaps you are trying to earn your salvation too? Remember it’s a gift not a prize! Just say thank you Lord! —Sid Halsband
Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul,
Thank you, Lord, for making me whole,
Thank you, Lord, for giving to me,
Thy great salvation so rich and free. —Seth Sykes, Bessie Sydney
