Genesis 2:4-25; Job 2:11-3:26; Matthew 2:1-23

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Cor. 5:21

The holy, spotless Son of God knew no sin! Yet He knew the shame of my sin as He hung on that cross. He knew no sin. But He knew the disgrace caused by my sin. He knew no sin. Yet He knew the humiliation my sin brought upon Him as drunkards sang songs to mock Him and others spat in His face. He knew what it was to suffer God’s full judgment for my sin, as alone, He bore my sins in His own body on the tree that I might be clothed in His righteousness. —David Croudace

Give me a sight, O Saviour, of Thy wondrous love to me,
Of the love that brought Thee down to earth, to die on Calvary.
O, make me understand it, help me to take it in;
What it meant to Thee, the Holy One, to bear away my sin. —K. Kelly
