Genesis 41:1-49; Psalm 18:30-50; Matthew 24:1-28

I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Genesis 9:13, NKJV

The first rainbow appeared as a comfort to Noah after the flood (Gen. 9:8-12). It appeared again in Ezekiel’s vision of the Almighty informing him of the storm that would come upon Jerusalem (Ezek. 1:28 cf. 14:13-21). In heaven, John saw a rainbow round the throne of God (Rev. 4:3). Shortly after this vision, the storm of the Great Tribulation will begin. For the Christian, be it after, in or before the storm, the Lord’s “rainbow” presence is always with us, and we hear Him say, “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39). —K. C. Ung

There’s a rainbow in the cloud for you,
There’s a promise that is sure and true;
Yes, the storm will pass away;
There will dawn a brighter day. —Eliza E. Hewitt
