Genesis 49:1-33; Psalms 28:1-29:11; Matthew 27:1-26

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6, NKJV

Scripture is filled with this simple message: Salvation is of the Lord; trust in Him. Corporately, it is easy to put our confidence in the number of people in our congregation, the effectiveness of the preacher, or in the amount of money tithed to the Lord. Personally, it is tempting to put our confidence in being a “better” Christian or spending more time reading or praying. Rather, we should look to God who, “would count you worthy” (2 Thess. 1:11). Boast in
the Lord and trust in Him! —J. D. Fraser

On Christ, salvation rests secure, the Rock of Ages must endure,
Nor can that faith be overthrown, which rests upon the “Living Stone”.  —S. Medley
