This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matt. 3:17
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Matthew 4:1, NKJV
The Father beheld His Son and was fully pleased. Was this part of the reason why, very shortly, the Devil tempted Him in the wilderness? What pleases the Father always attracts the Devil’s opposition. It is true in our lives too. We often are tested and tempted by the Devil because God is pleased with us. But how else will we learn to trust our loving heavenly Father unless our faith is tested also? So dear believer, be encouraged when trials come. It is because you are His beloved child. —Eleanor Isaacson
Help me to walk aright; more by faith, less by sight;
Lead me with heav’nly light, teach me Thy way. —M. Ramsey
