Exodus 23:10-33; Psalms 66:1-67:7; Acts 13:1-25
He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Luke 6:12
The distractions of daylight activities are gone when communing with the Lord in the night. Faith then has a clean slate to work with, as soul and spirit lift unhindered to God in prayer. A few words of thanks, urgent words of concern, praise notes, rush to the throne of grace faster than they can be spoken. The Mediator speaks for the one praying in the darkness and makes that case His own. He has been here and knows our sorrows. —Gaius C. Goff
We come, obeying, laying our sins and sorrows at Thy feet,
On everlasting strength our weakness staying,
Clothed in Thy robe of righteousness complete;
Rising and refreshed we leave Thy throne,
And follow on knowing as we are known. —Jane Borthwick
