2 Kings 11:1-12:21; Jeremiah 48:1-47; Hebrews 12:18-13:6

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter… Hebrews 11:24, 26

Moses was brought up as the grandson of the Pharaoh of Egypt, and could have inherited the greatest throne in the world. But instead of the treasures of Egypt, he chose to suffer affliction with the people of God, rather than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin. We too, must daily make a choice between God’s plans for us and fame or riches, all of which will soon pass away, and only Christ and eternity will remain. —David Croudace

Only one life, yes only one; soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in “that day” my Lord to meet, and stand before His Judgment Seat.
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.  —C. T. Studd
