Exodus 24:1-18; Psalm 68:1-35; Acts 13:26-52

This day shall be to you a memorial. Exodus 12:14 NKJV

This “memorial day” was the day that, redeemed from slavery, Israel left Egypt. Prior to this day, each family had selected an unblemished lamb, and examined it for flaws for nearly four days. This lamb was slain and its blood applied to the door frame of each home. Judgment fell on every house where the blood was not applied. In a
similar manner every traveller to heaven has a “memorial day” when their journey began. Facing judgment, they realize that God provided the Lord Jesus, “The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) to die for sin. But this truth must be “personally applied,” or eternal judgment will fall. Thank God for His perfect Lamb! Have you received Him? —David W. Oliver

O happy day that fixed my choice, on Thee, my Saviour and my God!
Well may this glowing heart rejoice, and tell its raptures all abroad. —Doddridge
