Leviticus 14:33-57; Psalm 119:41-72; Mark 5:1-20
The feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water…the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap. Joshua 3:15-16 NKJV
After all their travels, Joshua and the Israelites could see the promised land, just over the Jordan river. But the river was in flood, rushing noisily over its banks. Yet God had promised that the waters would recede when the priests stepped into them. We usually want the river to be dry before we take a step, but God was calling Israel to step out in faith. Are waters raging in your life? Take faith’s step and watch God pull back the waves. —Alyssa Gee
You call me out upon the waters,
The great unknown, where feet may fail;
And there I find You in the mystery,
In oceans deep my faith will stand. —J. Houston, M. Crocker, S. Lighthelm
