So began the story that ended in the redemption of Israel from the bondage of Egypt—the tears of a child and a woman’s tender heart. This seemingly insignificant encounter resulted in Moses, the future deliverer of Israel, being brought up in the household of the oppressor, Pharaoh, to be cared for by his own mother, and, under God, to become the deliverer of Israel from bondage. How different are God’s ways from the ways of the world. So also in
