Deuteronomy 32:15-52; Hosea 2:1-3:5 ; Luke 17:20-18:14

And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. Mark 2:14

This was Matthew’s (Levi) call, and he immediately followed his Lord. Subsequently we see his hospitality. “Jesus sat at meat in his house” (v 15). We then see his quiet humility. Luke writes that Matthew left all, and followed Him and made Him a great feast in his own house (Luke 5:27-29). But Matthew makes no reference to the great feast. The humility of Matthew is seen in his silence about his own service. He emulated the One he followed. Do we have a
