The threefold repetition of Pontius Pilate’s “Not guilty!” verdict would have been enough to liberate any prisoner, but not our Lord Jesus Christ. He had been sent for this very hour, and at this pivotal moment in history, He would lay down His life to provide His thrice holy Father the just basis on which to redeem sinners.
