Exodus 15:1-27; Psalm 51:1-19; Acts 8:5-40
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. Philippians 2:15
When the Lord Jesus was here on earth He said, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12). However, just as the moon continues to reflect the glory of the departed sun, so also, in the absence of our Lord, we as saints are expected to be that source of spiritual illumination in our increasingly dark world. May we be diligent to
shed the light of the gospel in these closing moments of the Day of Grace. —W. H. Burnett
Men die in darkness at your side,
Without a hope to cheer the tomb,
Take up the torch and wave it wide,
The torch that lights time’s thickest gloom. —Horatius Bonar
