Herbert Lockyer, Sr. (1886-1984) was born in London, England. e was educated there and in Glasgow, Scotland and was honoured by Northwestern Evangelical Seminary with a Doctor of Divinity Degree in 1937. His varied pulpit ministry included 25 years of pastorates in Scotland and England, 10 years of a lecturing ministry in the United States under the auspices of the Moody Bible Institute, and 15 years of Bible conference speaking in the United States and Canada. As a prolific writer with unusual expository gifts, Herbert Lockyer wrote more than fifty nooks, including his famous “All” series of Bible study and reference works.
