There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. Proverbs 14:12

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Have you ever received wrong directions when travelling and ended up totally lost? The same thing will happen if you follow man’s directions as to how to get to heaven—eternally lost. So, don’t gamble with your eternal destination. God’s Word says that Jesus is the only way. You can rely on Him. —E. V.

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 37:1-29; Psalm 89:19-52; Acts 22:1-21

Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. Isaiah 1:18

Sin stains! The scarlet and the crimson referred to in this passage were “fast dyes.” That is, once the fabric had received the dyes, the stain was indelible. Such are the stains of sin. Once sins have been committed, the stain cannot be removed by man’s device. But what an offer the Lord makes to sin-stained man: He will remove indelible stain, and make the sinner as pure and clean as fresh snow. “And the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). —W. H. Burnett

There is a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel’s veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 36:1-38; Psalm 89:1-18; Acts 21:17-40

And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. John 19:2

On his head were many crowns. Revelation 19:12, KJV

In Pilate’s judgment hall there began a series of events meant to humiliate the Lord Jesus. Thorns, the product of the curse in Eden’s garden, were placed upon His head. It is a vivid picture of the place He took under awful condemnation. The day is coming when Jesus will wear many diadems of glory! In that day every knee will bow and confess Him as Lord. Dear reader it is wise to do it now. Make Him your Saviour! —Jim Paul

Behold the Lamb with glory crowned; To Him all power is given.
No place too high for Him is found, No place too high in Heaven.
—Thomas Kelly

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 35:1-35; Psalms 87:1-88:18; Acts 21:1-16

He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow. Philippians 2:8-10

The officers of the Sanhedrin slapped Him and thought they humbled Him. The rulers had Him crucified and thought they humbled Him. The Roman soldiers stripped Him and thought they humbled Him. But such was His power that their efforts were only as He allowed. The truth is He humbled Himself. Now God has highly exalted Him. God asks us to bow our knees to the Saviour today. Some day in the future, as Judge, He will demand it. What a privilege to do it now. —Ken Gross

Within the holiest of all cleansed by His precious blood; Before the

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 34:4-35; Psalms 85:1-86:17; Acts 20:17-38

…So great salvation. Hebrews 2:3, KJV

How great is our salvation? As great as our God! It is great because the great God is its Author, before whom the nations of the earth are counted as nothing (Isaiah 40:12-17). It is great because of what it does: saves us from past, present, and future sins; saves us from the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and, finally, the presence of sin. It is great because it saves sinners, rebels, hopeless cases, depraved and perverse members of a condemned race, and makes sons and worshipers out of them. Do you have this great salvation? Come to a great God today! —Carl Knott

How wondrous a Saviour is God’s blessed Son!
How great and eternal the work He has done!

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 33:1-34:3; Psalms 83:1-84:12; Acts 20:1-16

But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” Mark 5:36

Jairus had just learned that his beloved daughter had died. Instantly the Lord Jesus offered sympathy: “Do not fear, only believe.” What was the man afraid of? Were his fears physical? Emotional? Spiritual? Whatever they may have been, the Lord counseled him to believe—literally to “place his confidence” in the Lord Jesus. Perhaps you are sorrowing today. Is your heart aching over the death of a loved one? Does the future fill you with anxiety? Regardless of what your fears are, follow the Lord’s advice and put your confidence in Him. —L. Shatford

No matter what may be the test, God will take care of you; Lean,

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 32:1-35; Psalms 81:1-82:8; Acts 19:21-41

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain. Revelation 5:12, KJV

All the believer’s hopes depend on the perfect sacrifice of the Lord Jesus on the cross. Praise God He is now seated in His rightful place in glory. But so often we find ourselves looking back to the cross and to that time when we first believed. It brings joy to our hearts to recall the moment when God’s Holy Spirit granted us an understanding of our Saviour’s work—the sacrifice of the Lamb of God for us. Are you depending on the perfect work of the Lord Jesus Christ? —Mark Fenn

I have been at the altar and witnessed the Lamb, Burnt wholly to
ashes for me; And watched its sweet savour ascending on high,
Accepted, O Father, by Thee. —Amelia Matilda Hull

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 31:1-18; Psalms 79:1-80:19; Acts 18:24-19:20

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Hebrews 9:27, NKJV

This solemn warning is given to those who have never repented of their sin nor accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their substitute. On the cross of Calvary, the Saviour bore the sins of the world, but to be born again is a personal matter. The Lord Jesus said to Nicodemus: “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7, NKJV). Have you ever cried out from the depths of your heart and confessed: Christ Jesus died for me? —E. MacLelland

It was for me, yes all for me,
O love of God, so great so free,
O wondrous love, I’ll shout and sing,
He died for me, my Lord and King. —J. M. White

DAILY READINGS: Exodus 30:11-38; Psalm 78:32-72; Acts 18:1-23

And Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long will you go limping between two different opinions? 1 Kings 18:21

There is a saying in Luvale, “You cannot cross the river by having one foot in the canoe and one foot on the bank.” In other words, “Make up your mind.” Since Jesus Christ is God, and died for you to make the way to heaven, come aboard by trusting Christ now. Give Him your allegiance; abandon the eroding bank of sin. What must you do to be lost? Nothing! If you remain undecided, you will lose both Christ and the world. —David Croudace

Sinners, turn; why will you die? God, your Saviour, asks you why;
He who did your souls retrieve, died Himself, that you might live.
Will you not His grace receive? Will you still refuse to live? —C. Wesley

DAILY READINGS: Ex. 29:38-30:10; Ps. 78:1-31; Acts 17:16-34

They said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act…” John 8:4, NKJV

Some people think they are too sinful, too far gone for God to ever forgive them. Our Lord ministered to this woman who had been found in the act of adultery. One of the last people He comforted was a condemned thief. God loves you no matter what sin you have committed. He wants you to turn to Him. The thief on the cross asked the Lord Jesus to remember him and Jesus told him that he would be with Him in paradise. Turn to the Lord Jesus and accept the salvation He lovingly offers. —M. Robins

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me;
And that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God I come! I come. —Charlotte Elliot
