DAILY READINGS: Leviticus 8; Psalm 108; Mark 1:1-20
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be
acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalms 19:14
Handley Moule called this delightful psalm the “Sunrise hymn of
David.” This last verse teaches us the value of the soul meditating on
the law of the Lord. Years ago, while staying with a saintly couple, the
Wells of Summerside, PEI, I was struck that every morning the closing
words of Mr. Well’s prayer were the words of this verse. I have
never forgotten how these words spoke to my soul and the godly
example they set. May our words and our thoughts be “acceptable in
thy sight” every day. Make this your daily prayer. —Jim Comte
