This offer is not for a select group. One of the distinctive features of John’s gospel is the universal appeal, addressing the whole world – both Jews and Gentiles alike. We could very well write over John’s gospel: “Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn 1:29)

He presents the Lord Jesus as God Himself – the eternal “Word”, existing before creation, active in creation, and by incarnation, becoming flesh to dwell among us, so that we may behold His glory (John 1:14). We see our Lord’s glory shine brightly through His role in the God-head, as Creator, Life-giver, and Light of the world.
