Description
The antecedents which occasioned this Epistle were twofold. Various defects and delinquencies in doctrine and practice had made inroads upon the welfare of the church at Corinth, reports of which had reached the Apostle. Perplexing circumstances and conditions had arisen, concerning which a letter had been sent to him seeking his counsel.
