Why disciple others?

Here are seven wonderful, Bible-based reasons why discipling will be a blessing to both you and those whom you disciple:

1. It is biblical: “Go… and make disciples…” (Matthew 28:19,20)
2. It shows unconditional love, sacrifice, and loyalty to the Lord: “Whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:25-27, 33)
3. It transforms us to become more like Christ: “They realized that they had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13)
4. It is God’s plan to grow the Church: “I will build My church…” (Matthew 16:18)
5. It prepares us for service for Him: “You shall be witnesses to Me…” (Acts 1:8)
6. Discipleship prepares us to be disciplers: “…commit these to faithful men who will… teach others also” (Timothy 2:2)
7. It strengthens our relationship with God and others: “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34, 35)
