Description
In his first epistle to Timothy, the Apostle Paul outlined how one ought to behave oneself in the local church. The standards and behaviour that the apostle outlines in his epistle reflect the unique character and importance of the local church – ‘the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth’ (1 Tim. 3:15). This book shares the apostle’s conviction of the special importance of the local assembly to God, and his recognition that this value demands a high standard of behaviour. We find the details of this standard of behaviour in the same place as Timothy: in the inspired Word of God. This book on church truth bears the hallmark of Adam Thropay’s teaching – concise, clear and challenging exposition that is faithful to the text of Scripture. It presents the teaching of Scripture on the essentials of church practice: baptism, the Lord’s Supper, headcoverings, overseers, and church discipline.
