Spiritual Depression: Its Causes and Cure
By: D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Spiritual Depression is something of a manual for the Christian life and can be read again and again with real profit. With regard to happiness and fullness in the Christian life, it is perhaps the greatest book ever written. First published in 1965, its enduring message continues to strengthen and uplift generations of Christians across the globe. Being deeply concerned that too many Christians were living below their rightful inheritance of peace and joy. Martyn Lloyd-Jones sought to apply the Scriptures to the spiritual troubles we often face and thereby deliver God’s people from the wiles of the Devil. His convictions were that by the renewal of the mind, and by the truth of God’s Word being applied to the whole of life, light would come and the darkness would lift – Christians who had been living in the darkness of depression would be delivered and enjoy the assurance of God and an abundance of life once again, unbelievers who had rejected the Gospel message on account of the unhappiness of Christians would be challenged, and many of God’s people would be restored and become the kind of light-bearers and witnesses God intends.

Included in this edition is an MP3 disc with audio files of the twenty-four sermons that laid the foundation for the book. Anyone who has not yet heard him preach will soon discover why Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones is often considered the greatest preacher of the twentieth century.

This new edition will stand the test of time. It is clothbound, smythe-sewn, and foil-stamped. It features an attractive dust-jacket, with a matching design on the MP3 disc.

D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones (1899-1981) was a minister of Westminster Chapel in London for nearly 30 years. His ministry began in the Welsh town of Aberavon among the Calvinistic Methodists. He began to be sought after as both preacher and counselor, eventually moving to London where he exercised what may be considered the most influential Christian ministry of his generation. His ability as a preacher and counselor came not from his personality or philosophy, but from his sound, biblical theology, together with its practical application to souls. In an era of superficial methods and doctrinal uncertainty Lloyd-Jones stood powerfully and effectively for Christ. Having been one of the greatest medical doctors of his country, and then having pastored among God’s people for many years, Lloyd-Jones was remarkably qualified to address this difficult issue with rare balance and insight. Moreover, his entire ministry was marked by the power of God.
