DAILY READINGS: Ex. 1 to 2:22; Ps. 31; Matt . 27:45-66
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. Psalms 23:2
The pilgrim’s path is not all toil. The good Shepherd leads His flock into quiet resting places. “He giveth His beloved sleep” (Ps.127:2)—
that is rest for the weary body. Seasons of prayer and communion with Him give rest for the weary spirit. Fellowship with the saints gives rest for the weary soul. The busy life needs these green pastures and still waters, these rest stops along the weary way. Are you enjoying them or is life too busy? —Milton Haack
The Lord is my Shepherd, no want shall I know;
I feed in green pastures, safe folded I rest;
He leadeth my soul where the still waters fl ow,
Restores me when wandering, redeems when oppressed. —J. M.
