DAILY READINGS: 2 Sam. 18 to 19:8; Jeremiah 2 to 3:5; Gal. 4:1-20

Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD. Genesis 13:4

Abram departed from God’s presence at Bethel to resolve his trial in Egypt. Choosing not to follow God’s path will always have consequences. Yet, God intervened to bring Abram back to the very place where he first enjoyed communion with God. He was not restored to a lower position after his failure, but into full fellowship. This encourages all those who have erred from the path of righteousness to go back to where they went wrong, and to call upon the Lord. Full restoration and fellowship will be found there. —Warren Henderson

Thou the spring of all my comfort, more than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee? Whom in heaven but Thee?—F. J. C.
