DAILY READINGS: Leviticus 4:1-26; Psalm 103; Acts 26:19-32

And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. Leviticus 6:12

The sacred fire which turned the offerings to a sweet savour must never be put out nor allowed to go out. The fragrance which spoke of Christ must ascend constantly, day and night. His preciousness to the Father knows no interruption, and so should our appreciation of Him rise continually in worship. The fire of devotion must never go out. —Jim Flanigan

All His joy, His rest, His pleasure, all His deep delight in Thee;
Lord, Thy heart alone can measure what Thy Father found in Thee.—C. A. Wellesley
