DAILY?READINGS: 2 Chronicles 31; Ezekiel 47; 1 John 1 to 2:11

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
John 3:35

From eternity past, God the Father loved the Son. This love is the standard by which all other loves are measured. It is also the demonstration of divine generosity towards sinful man. Christ is uniquely “the Son of His love” (Col. 1:13, NKJV). John 3:16 points out the breadth and depth of this love, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.” Romans 8:32 agrees: “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” God’s grace to saints is secured and defined by the worth of the Son to the Father.    —Keith Keyser

God wrought by weight and measure, and I was with Him then:
Myself the Father’s pleasure, and mine, the sons of men.
