By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Hebrews 9:12
How much more shall the blood of Christ…purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Hebrews 9:14
Hebrews records that the high priest of old went alone once a year, with blood, into the Holiest of all. There was no other man alive, who could do this, but him. The Lord Jesus cried from the cross, “My God, My God, why has thou forsaken me?” (Matt. 27:46). He, who was ever with the Father, went alone to where no other person could go. He offered what no other person could offer—Himself. —S. B.
