DAILY?READINGS: 1 Kings 3; Jeremiah 11; Ephesians 4:17-32
Those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? Luke 13:4
To the question of an untimely death being a judgement of God, the Lord Jesus clarifies that misconception by saying “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). The truth is that we are all going to perish someday. The time, place and reason are unknown to us. However we do know that if we die without coming to Christ we will indeed perish. Our hearts should be keen to the brevity of life—life that must turn to God in repentance or perish for all eternity. —Tom Steere
O soul! Why shouldst thou wander, from such a loving Friend?
Cling closer, closer to Him, stay with Him to the end.
