DAILY?READINGS: 1 Kings 4-5; Jeremiah 12; Ephesians 5:1-21

We remember…Egypt…the onions, and the garlic.  Numbers 11:5
For consider (remember) him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.  Hebrews 12:3

When the Israelites remembered the indulgences of Egypt and forgot all that they had suffered there, they got depressed and wanted to return! We too, can easily become weary and disheartened. But God has given us the antidote here—we need to set aside time to consider and “meditate on” the Lord Jesus and His sufferings. God promises that doing this will be a powerful motivating force in our lives and will keep us from becoming spiritually drained and discouraged. —David Croudace

Give me a sight O Saviour, of Thy wondrous love for me,
Of the love that brought Thee down to earth, to die on Calvary. —A. Kelly
