DAILY?READINGS: 1 Kings 7; Jeremiah 14; Ephesians 6:10-24

I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.  Psalms 77:11

How wonderful a gift is our memory, particularly when we centre it on the Lord of all creation and redemption. As we consider all His marvelous works, it seems we eventually arrive at Calvary, God’s wonder of wonders. With the emblems of bread and wine our hearts are carried back over the centuries. Looking at the bread we think of His body which was given. In viewing the cup, we remember His precious blood that was shed. May we be caught up in wonder as we remember Him today.  —Harold G. Smith

To Calvary, Lord, in spirit now,
Our weary souls repair,
To dwell upon Thy dying love,
And taste its sweetness there.—E. Denny
