Apollos was proving to be a very capable teacher of the Scriptures. To admonish him publicly could have caused great distress and embarrassment, so Aquila and Priscilla took him home with them, where they graciously corrected him in private. Oh that we were more sensitive to the needs of the saints. Love and compassion can achieve so much more than cold criticism. —Brian Russell
