DAILY READINGS: 1 Kings 11:1-43; Jeremiah 19:1-20:18; Philippians 4:2-23

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

It was Harry A. Ironside who said that to him, Isaiah 53:6 is the most wonderful text in the Word of God, epitomizing the entire story of the Bible: man’s ruin by nature and practice and God’s marvelous and all-sufficient remedy. An anxious soul was directed to this text and finding peace said afterward, “I bent low and went in at the first all. I stood up and came out at the second all.” —W. Ross Rainey

All thy sins were laid upon Him,
Jesus bore them on the tree;
God, who knew them, laid them on Him,
And, believing, thou art free. —J. D. Smith
