2 Chronicles 20:1-37; Ezekiel 39:1-29; John 16:16-33

A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? Ecclesiastes 10:14

Who knows what lies ahead? God does. Portions of the Old Testament are divinely inspired prophecy by men—men who couldn’t possibly know the future apart from God’s revelation to them. Our future is part of God’s eternal plan. “For the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame” (Heb. 12:2). Next in His timetable is the rapture of the saints! What a joyful future moment that will be! —Vernon Markle
