Exodus 23:10-33; Psalms 66:1-67:7; Acts 13:1-25

The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish. Proverbs 14:11

Presently, unbelievers largely consider their lives to be stable and permanent. By contrast, Christian believers are called to live like pilgrims, keeping a loose grip on earthly possessions. Like the patriarchs, they live tent-like existences, willing to put off their present bodies in favor of a coming glorious body, compared to a house (2 Cor. 5:1). People who live for this age appear to establish prosperous houses, but from the spiritual viewpoint, they will be overthrown. By contrast, saints will flourish for eternity in the Father’s house. —K. R. Keyser

This world of care is a wilderness state, here is no rest—is no rest;
But I must bear from the world all its hate, yet I am blest—I am blest.   —Unknown
