Leviticus 16:1-34; Psalm 119:113-144; Mark 6:1-29

Bring these men home. Genesis 43:16

This ruler of Joseph’s house, like other servants whose names are not recorded in Scripture, pictures the work of the Holy Spirit. He was charged with the care of the brethren who were still ignorant of Joseph’s identity. One day, at the end of the tribulation, Israel will be restored to their heavenly Joseph, and the nation that delivered Him up to be crucified will bow “themselves to him to the earth” (Gen. 43:26). But today, the Holy Spirit is also our Interpreter and Comforter, and He will minister to us until that wonderful
moment when we shall be with the Sufferer who has been made the Sovereign. —Phil Coulson

We have no home nor city here, this earth is all unblest:
Let Christ the Lord again appear, and give us perfect rest. —R. C. Chapman
