If we wish to serve the Lord well, we must first learn to spend quality time each day communing with our beloved Saviour in His Word. We cannot set in order another’s vineyard if our own is still unkempt! Communion with Him must always precede service for Him. The Lord commended Mary who sat at His feet, above Martha who was busy serving. Service blessed by God will result from time spent in the desert place with our Lord. —David Croudace
