Exodus 26:31-27:19; Psalm 72:1-20; Acts 15:22-35

Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation. Acts 15:31

The word “consolation” here, could read “encouragement”. This letter was sent from the church at Jerusalem to encourage the believers at Antioch. If there is ever a day when we need encouragement it is now. We live in an anti-God world which has gone its own way, not only to ignore, but to deny biblical principles. We need to constantly lean on the Lord and each other. We need more like Barnabas who was known as the “son of consolation” (Acts 4:36). —Brian Russell

We share our mutual woes; our mutual burdens bear.
And often for each other flows, a sympathising tear.  —John Fawcett
