Exodus 8:1-32; Psalms 38:1-39:13; Acts 3:1-26

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7

Chinese New Year is celebrated by millions of Chinese ancestry. According to their zodiac calculation, this is the Year of the Horse and it postulates a good year. Those born this year are regarded to be honest, outspoken, and easygoing — trustworthy. They are horses! But God states otherwise. “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!” (Isa. 31:1).
