C.F. Hogg (1859-1943) went to China as a missionary at the age of 25. He was driven back to the UK by the Boxer Rebellion. His preaching and teaching gifts were greatly used and his writing ministry, often along with W.E. Vine, is still a great blessing today.

Lubos Paul Kresina was born four years after the end of WWI to Christian parents in newly formed Czechoslovakia. His father dedicated his whole life to the Lord as a missionary in Europe, mainly in central and southeast Europe. The author lived in Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia during WWII and was forced to work in a German military factory. After the war, Kresina was able to study Hebrew, Greek, and English at a Bible Institute in Glasglow, Scotland. He added these languages to those he already had mastered: Czech, German, French, and Latin. This enabled him to preach the Word in many different languages. He lived in Communist Czechoslovakia from 1948 until 1967, when he and his family defected. The author has been married for over 63 years with a daughter and a son. They also have three grandchildren.

Tim Mather was born and brought up in Derbyshire, England. Through the influence of godly parents and the believers in their small assembly, he developed a love for the Scriptures from an early age. Tim and his wife Sarah have served the Lord in young people’s work in Birmingham, England, and in Muree, Pakistan. With their four children, they now reside in Southeast Asia, where they continue to work with young people and  minister to local believers. They are commended from their assembly in Warrington, England. Tim’s first book, Judges: Book of Heroes, is also available from Gospel Folio Press.

When Dale S. Marshall , was in his twenties, he was on staff at a Bible camp in Ontario for eight summers. This experience caused him to develop an interest and concern for young people. Eventually he saw that there was a lack of good Christian literature geared just for young people, and he was led of the Lord to write this novel, The Hired Man’s Clock. He spent fifteen years praying his way through this labour of love. He is now widowed, but is thankful that his four children know the Lord and are going on well for Him. He is currently in happy fellowship in a small assembly in rural Nova Scotia.

Tom V. Taylor, STM, STD, is Emeritus Professor of Church History and Old Testament at Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. His teaching career in biblical studies spans 37 years. He and his wife, Ruth, make their home in nearby Dublin, Pennsylvania. They are the parents of five children. Tom is active in radio, writing, and conference ministries across the US. Tom has also written Your Old Testament Toolbox.

John Maxted was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1926. He was inducted into the Canadian army in 1945. After the war he attended the Ontario College of Art in Toronto where he met his wife Margaret Caldwell. They were married in 1948. In that same year he became the Art Director of Russell T. Kelley Ltd., in Hamilton. It was there that he met Tom Dear, a Christian and teacher of God’s Word. Though a “church boy” in one of the denominations all his life, Jack had never heard the wonderful truths that Tom taught. Since then, John has been going on for the Lord and attending various assemblies in Ottawa and Markham. He has been writing Christian Bible expositions all his life but didn’t start publishing his writing until 1990. At present he lives in a seniors home in Markham and is still writing and publishing.

Neil McCormick Fraser was born, and born again, in Scotland, but spent most of his life in the U.S. Trained for the sea, he heard the call of God to serve full time in the ministry of the Word of God. He was a familiar figure on Bible conference platforms across North America. The author also spent considerable time in Grenada, Trinidad, and Tobago. He served on the visiting faculty of Emmaus Bible School, lecturing on Evidences for Christianity, and contributed regularly to Christian periodicals on both sides of the Atlantic.

Jim Flanigan was born into a Christian family in Northern Ireland, born again there, and received into Parkgate Assembly in East Belfast in 1946. For many years he served the Lord as a businessman. Then in 1972, he sensed the Master calling him to devote all his energies to teaching and preaching the Word of God. He has travelled widely in Britain, the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Israel. His special interest in Israel is evident in his writing. In addition to numerous articles, Mr. Flanigan has penned commentaries on Revelation, Hebrews, and recently, Psalms.

Dr. Lehman Strauss,  divides his time between weekly national broadcasts of Bible Study Time and an itinerant conference and evangelistic ministry from coast to coast. Dr. Strauss taught at Philadelphia College of Bible, and served in Bristol, Pennsylvania and Highland Park, Michigan before resigning to take up his present more widespread ministry.

Alfred P. Gibbs was born in 1890 in Birmingham, England, and was raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. His twin brother, Edwin, led him to Christ. He served in World War I as a chaplain. In 1919, he left for Moody Bible School in Chicago. While there, he became involved with Rescue Mission, an assembly-operated organization as well as worked part time at Emmaus Bible School. In 1931, he published a hymnbook filled with songs he composed and wrote himself. Some of these hymns are A Thousand A Thousand Thanksgivings and Sweet Is The Story. He never married and lived out of a suitcase for most of his life. In 1967, he passed away in a car accident. He was an excellent gospel preacher and loved serving others.
