More Bible Atlas Resources from GFP

Continuing from last week’s blog post, here are more Bible Atlas reviews of resources available at Gospel Folio Press:

The One-Stop Bible Atlas (Hardcover)
We might also point out this comprehensive Bible Atlas.

“I really appreciated the One-Stop Bible Atlas during my study for Israel as well. One of the neat things it includes is a timeline of the travels of Jesus and just seeing how far he travelled between a lot of the stories in the Gospels.” -Chris, GFP Warehouse Manager

The New Moody Atlas of the Bible
This atlas from Moody integrates the geography of Bible lands with the teachings of the Bible. It includes 118 full colour, updated, detailed and digitized maps of the geographical locations found in the Scripture. An invaluable asset for Sunday schools and Bible college students.

Baker’s Bible Atlas
To fully understand the Bible’s stories of people and places, it is important to visualize how geography played a role in these interactions.

The helpful index in Baker’s atlas assists you in locating significant places on modern and traditional maps.

The Kregel Bible Atlas
This atlas is a full-colour reference book perfect for beginners.

“This slim reference book introduces readers to the lands and times of the Bible in an attractive easy-to-read format.” ~Amazon reviewer

Rose Then & Now Bible Maps Materials

Sometimes Gospel Folio’s selection of products in a given area can be daunting for our customers. It can be difficult to choose between similar products without actually seeing them in person.

Below is a comparison of the Then & Now Bible Maps products GFP carries from Rose Publishing. For more information, click on the links provided to view the detailed product profiles on our webstore.

Then And Now Bible Maps
This volume is a basic Bible Maps resource. Its main feature is that it includes Clear Plastic Overlays that show modern borders. For example, if you are reading about a city in the Old Testament, you can see where it would be located according to modern day geography. A spiral-bound hardcover, it is only 20 pages long.

This is a companion product to the Rose Publishing Then and Now Bible Maps PowerPoint which is great for study and teaching purposes.

Deluxe Then & Now Bible Maps
The Deluxe Then & Now Bible Maps volume is an expanded edition of the Then & Now Bible Maps (above). For an additional $10, you receive a CD ROM and about 20 more pages. It contains the clear overlays for many of the maps showing modern day borders. The Table of Contents is particularly helpful.

“When I was studying for my trip to Israel, this was the map book that I used for the most part. I found it easy to use.” -Chris, GFP Warehouse Manager

Rose Then and Now Bible Map Atlas with Biblical Background and Culture
This volume is a major Atlas, containing a lot of text, commentary, and history. It is a lot more than just a map book. It is a case-bound book (the rest of the Rose Map books are lay-flat coil bound). This altas is 272 pages (compare with 40 pages for the Deluxe Then & Now Bible Maps). It would take a lot of familiarization for this to become a regular Bible study tool in your library.

Rose Book of Bible Charts, Maps & Time Lines (Volume 1)
There is also this volume, which includes a lot of the same maps as the other atlases mentioned above. The clear overlays, however, are not included. Instead of overlays, it contains a historical map followed by the present day map below on the same page. This Rose volume provides a lot of additional charts, etc.

Then and Now Bible Maps Insert
This Bible insert contains material from the Then and Now Bible Maps in a portable format. It fits inside your Bible, providing on the go access to the information you would already have familiarized yourself with. It is a robust Bible Maps addition to the back of your Bible.

As part of our webstore update this past year, we have also sought to provide updated images and book information about each of the books we carry from Believer’s Bookshelf.

Bible Truth Publishers is another long-time publisher whose book titles GFP supplies. Our customers will be familiar with the Gospel Wallet and Joyful News calendars published each year by Bible Truth Publishers.

We are pleased to carry their growing “Bible Talks” commentary series among many other titles.

Building Stones – A brand new children’s devotional

Building Stones: In the Bible Day by Day is a brand new children’s devotional from Precious Seed.

About Building Stones:

All Christians should do one very important thing, and that is to read the Bible every day. God does not speak from heaven with a loud voice any more, though He used to do that in Bible times. Nor do we usually hear His voice speaking to us in our ears. Instead, He speaks to us in our hearts and one of the best ways of letting Him do this is by reading His words and thoughts in the Bible. As we read it everyday, we will get to know the things we should do as Christians, as well as the things we should not do. God will use the Bible to teach us, advise us, correct us, encourage us and make us stronger Christians.

This book has been written to help you, as a young Christian, to read the Bible every day in one year. Each day has its own page, and on that page you will find you are directed to read some words from the Bible. When you have read them, there will be a little explanation of those words, or a story about them on the same page, followed by a suggestion of how you could pray about that reading. There are some lovely drawings in the book, prepared by my good friend Honor, which I know will often bring a smile to your face.

This book is a follow-up to the book Stepping Stones. It is not quite the same as Stepping Stones, which took stories in the Bible from the beginning to the end, from Genesis to Revelation. The readings in this book are randomly arranged, but you will also find several series of readings during the year, such as a series on the Ten Commandments, the cross of Jesus, and children in the Bible. This book is designed to help you build Christian character. Do try to get into the habit of reading the Bible every day. This book and the first one, Stepping Stones, will help you do that.

Devotionals from GFP author Shane Johnson

Shane Johnson has written three books for Gospel Folio Press. Many have enjoyed his devotional titles on several different topics. We highly recommend his December devotional at this time of the year:

31 Days at Bethlehem’s Manger (2011)

Wisdom for Fools: 101 Proverbs to Live By (2013)

Strength for the Journey: 52 Devotions from John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress (2012)

Shane Johnson, from Brantford, Ontario, has been commended from Beth-Park Bible Chapel since 1999. In 2001, he married Shelly, who joined him in the ministry, and they together are raising God’s energetic blessings: Micah, Noah, Josiah, Isaiah and Leah.

Shane has received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from McMaster University. His passions are writing, preaching, teaching and working with children and youth, and perhaps a little soccer too.
