For well over one hundred years the guidane of speakers and topics at conferences has been left to the leading of the Holy Spirit of God. This practice has been called an “open platform” conference.
But now conveners of some conferences are limiting the minisry of the Word to invited speakers. Some are going further in arranging the order in which thesemen speak. Additionally, some conferences have prearranged topics.

They believe the open platform is the Scriptural means of holding a conference and they present Scriptural reasons for this. They also address problems that arise in this format and ways the Lord would have us deal with them.
