It was a gratifying experience to be asked to conduct six in-depth studies on Scriptural topics for young people in Bristol and Bath area. The brief was to extend their minds and to encourage them to grapple with something more detailed than would be given in a normal church service.
A group of young men started a prayer meeting in September 1857 in Ulster. They focused upon three truths: the Sovereignty of the Holy Spirit’; the ‘Sufficiency of the Holy Scripture’ and the ‘Secret of Holy Supplication’. From that prayer meeting revival broke out in Ulster and 100,00 people were converted to Christ. In Christ. In this book we are considering the second of those three great features: the ‘Sufficiency of the Holy Scripture’.
