DAILY?READINGS: Deut. 23:9 to 24:22; Jonah 1-2; Luke 12:41-59

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him. Luke 10:33

J. I. Packer states, “Your attitude to your fellow-men, good and bad, nice and nasty, both Christians and unbelievers, is to be that of the Good Samaritan towards the Jew in the gutter.” Our compassion to those in need should concern both the spiritual and the material. Let us use our personal resources, our time, our words and our prayers to reach the lost and encourage the believers. —Bob Cretney

Because I have been given much, I too must give.
Because of Thy great bounty, Lord each day I live.
I shall divide my gifts from Thee, with every brother that I see,
Who has the need of help from me.
