DAILY?READINGS: 1 Samuel 6-7; Isaiah 48; 2 Corinthians 9

And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.  Matt. 14:26

At first the disciples did not recognize the Lord in the storm. It was not that their vision was dimmed, but that their minds were dulled. May we not fail to recognize His presence in life’s storms. Nor may we fail to expect Him when He at last shall come again to take us out of the darknesses and distresses of this sin-sick world. Remember, He could return today!  —W. Ross Rainey

O child of God, there is for thee,
A hope that shines amid the gloom,
A gladsome hope that thou shalt see,
Thy Lord, for He will surely come.
