Deuteronomy 4:1-49; Ecclesiastes 5:1-6:12; Luke 7:30-50

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13

Someone has said, “You can follow your ‘know’s’ through 1 John”. He was right. In this little epistle, just five chapters long, John uses the word “know” 40 times! Of all the “know” statements, the dearest is that we know that we have eternal life. God’s salvation is not a think so, hope so, trust so, guess so, maybe so salvation. We have a “know so” salvation, based solely upon the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary.—Rex Trogdon

Oh, the peace forever flowing
From God’s thoughts of His own Son!
Oh, the peace of simply knowing,
On the cross that all was done. —A. P. Cecil
